What is Floorball?
Floorball is a fast paced, 6 a side ( 5 field players and a Goal Keeper) sport, similar to hockey, played on an indoor court.
Floorball is played on an enclosed rink, with a plastic ball.
Floorball's popularity is rapidly spreading worldwide, and is suitable and highly enjoyable for any age.
What ages can play?
Players may join from 5 years of age
Do I need special equipment?
Peninsula Floorball can assist with anything you require to get started playing Floorball. All you need to bring ion your 1st day s a good attitude :)
Peninsula Floorball has loan sticks available , and loan protective eyewear for juniors.
It is a compulsory requirement of Floorball Australia that all players under the age of 17 wear protective eyewear on court.
Once players have played Floorball for a while, many elect to purchase their own equipment.
What do I wear?
Sports trainers and comfortable sports clothing
Do you accept active Kids Vouchers?
Yes we do, your voucher can be added on your registration form.
What are the age divisions?
These are guidelines and other factors such as skill are also considered when assessing our athletes for their division.
New players should register for their age division.
Juniors - 5-9 years
Intermediate - 10-12 years
Youth - 13 - 14 years
Senior youth - 15 - 19 years
Mixed - Senior competition,( + some of our eligible senior youth players)
Elites - Elite senior competition for highly skilled players.
When and where do you play?
Peninsula Floorball operates weekly from the Peninsula Leisure Centre on a Tuesday during school terms.
What about training?
Teams train on the same day as they play. Training is conducted within the same time slot as their game. You will be there for approximately 1 hour total for training and game time
What time do you play?
This varies from season to season, based on team numbers, however a guide is
Intermediates - 4.30 pm
Youth - 5.55pm
Senior youth - 5.55pm
Mixed and elites - 7.20 and 8.20
